Project Neon 2011-07 summary

And another month passed, so here’s the July summary of the KDE trunk daily builds for Kubuntu a.k.a Project Neon. There aren’t many updates this month because the team was busy with 4.7 packaging for Kubuntu.
Those that don’t know yet what Project Neon is should read Michal’s introductory post.

Updates for Users:

  • Kalzium now builds the Molecular Editor again. Why the titrition calculator doesn’t work will be investigated soon.
  • A snapshot of the Networkmanagement nm09 branch was uploaded so the network management applet works again in oneiric.

Team stuff:

  • The kdesupport svn import finally works so we don’t need the workaround provided by maxb anymore. Thanks again to him for helping us out.
  • Bluedevil got put on the packaging TODO list.

If you have questions or just want to tell us how you are using Project Neon feel free to leave us a note on IRC in #project-neon@irc.freenode.net

  1. Sorry if it is already there but can someone add to the Wiki if Project Neon adds a new session in KDM or if it overwrites older KDE packages.

    1. The wiki already states that you should install “project-neon-session so you get KDM support for Project Neon.” which will add a Project Neon entry to KDM, but that all packages are installed in /opt/project-neon/ and don’t touch your stable KDE install at all seems to be mising from the page. I’ll add it somewhere and thanks for pointing this out 🙂
